As part of our 40th anniversary celebrations in 2014, MVA decided to take a closer look at the history of community activism in Midlothian. On this journey of discovery we uncovered some fascinating information about topics including the history of the miners strikes, the local suffragette movement and a number of other high profile campaigns for social and environmental change. We also spoke to some well-known Midlothian volunteers and activists to find out about the work they’ve done to help improve their own communities in recent years.
