All About Community Asset Transfer
2 November, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
FreeFind out how your community organisation can take on asset in Midlothian for the use of the community.
Community Asset Transfer (CAT) is a process in which community organisations have a right to request local authorities for the ownership or lease of any land, or buildings, that they could manage and bring public benefit to. The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 sets out the key rights and duties and provides a framework for the process.
This event is held in partnership between MVA and Midlothian Council to outline the CAT process in the local authority. We are very pleased to welcome our guest speaker Ruth Evans from DTAS to outline the nuts and bolts of the process, timescales involved and top tips. There will also be time for questions.
The current CAT process for Midlothian is outlined on the Council’s website.
This event is for those who are interested in potentially taking on an asset from Midlothian council either now or in the future. As spaces are limited to 15 we currently ask that only 1 person per organisation signs up.
